Highlights of Lisa and John's Two-Week Visit - March 25 to April 7

Lisa and John arrived in Boat Harbour on March 25.  The weather was great, which allowed us to do a lot of cruising during their two-week stay.
Tilloo Cay

After spending a few days relaxing at Boat Harbour Marina, we did an overnight trip to Tilloo Cay.  Located on Tilloo is a castle, which we have always admired.  We met the owner at Boat Harbour, where he comes by boat to get supplies.  John would help him tie up and got to know him pretty well.  So, he invited us to visit his compound.

The castle is for guests and has a bedroom/bathroom suite on each of its three levels.

The main house is elegant.....
The grounds are beautiful......

The views are incredible.....

There are six buildings on the property, including an airplane hanger....

We felt very lucky to be able to visit this little peace of paradise!

Mermaid Reef - Marsh Harbour

We snorkeled at Mermaid Reef, even though the water was cool....

Man-O-War Cay
We rendezvoused with Nick and Sharon on TOI BOAT at Man-O-War Cay and spent the afternoon walking around the Island.  We anchored in the Sea of Abaco very close to a narrow section of the Cay, where we saw a beautiful sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean.  Nick made his delicious homemade pizza for dinner.

Powell and Green Turtle Cays

We were able to navigate around Whale Cay to visit a couple of the northern cays for the first time with Lisa and John.  Powell Cay is a great place to beach comb and swim.

We took the dinghy into the beach where the "sign-in" tree is located.  "Sign-in" trees can be found on most of the cays where cruisers visit and leave something from their boat.

We then traveled to Green Turtle Cay, where we spent Easter Sunday.  New Plymouth is the main village on GTC...
Easter is a National Holiday in the Bahamas.  It was fun strolling around New Plymouth seeing everyone dressed up for church services....
The weather was beautiful for walking on the beach and having happy hour at our favorite bar, Pineapples, which overlooks the Sea of Abaco....

We stayed at the Leeward Marina in Black Sound, which is part of a new housing development.  The Spring flowers were in full bloom......
Each morning we would find the "resident" shark sleeping near our dock.
Treasure Cay

From GTC, we traveled to Treasure Cay, which is where Lisa and John would get their flight back to Florida.  One of the most beautiful beaches in the world is located here.  We attended a barbeque at the beach bar....
It was a fun way to spend the last night of their vacation!
