Snorkeling

For the past two years, John has wanted to snorkel one of the best reefs in the Abacos, Fowl Cay Reef.    This is an ocean barrier reef and it is recommended to snorkel only in good light and settled weather.

This past Sunday met the recommended conditions.  Fowl Cay Preserve includes a small cay (Fowl) that separates the ocean reefs from the Sea of Abaco.  After checking the charts and seeing other boats anchored, we brought DUETTO into a very sandy area between the reefs to set our anchor.  The reefs were within 150 feet from where the boat was anchored.

The pictures below are some of the underwater pictures we took during this very successful snorkeling experience after waiting two years.  We snorkeled two of the many reefs in the area.

We are hoping to have another opportunity to snorkel some of the other beautiful reefs.
